Join Let’s Go Surfing in Bondi or Maroubra for a two-hour group lesson or multi day course. Waves Surf School are also based at Bondi and offer day and multi day surf trips to the beautiful Royal National Park.
Down south, the Cronulla Surfing Academy is excellent, with Blake and his team taking groups out at all experience levels and ages. Ever wanted to learn the thrilling art of bodyboarding and how to get inside the barrel of a wave? The Bodyboard Academy, also in Cronulla, has lessons for kids and adults alike with Australian world champion Lilly Pollard.
Ready to wipeout in the Northern Beaches? You can’t go wrong with a lesson with Manly Surf School and Manly Surf Guide. While Chix Surf School at Freshwater has all-female classes. Manly and nearby Freshwater are recognised as an Australian National Surfing Reserve, along with Bondi, Cronulla, North Narrabeen and Maroubra.
A great way to meet new friends and experience the spectacular NSW coastline beyond Sydney is on a surfing safari. The multiday escapes are a memorable way to begin surfing. Tours that depart from Sydney include Australian Surf Tours, Surf Camp Australia and Mojosurf.
