Light Brigade Hotel
Highlights
Classic pub fare with standout parmigiana and burgers
Stylish Art Deco setting with vibrant, modern bistro vibes
Overview
One of the eastern suburbs' favourite spots for a pint or a cocktail, The Light Brigade is a dramatic example of Art Deco architecture, standing four storeys tall on a busy Oxford Street corner. The ground floor bar with its Sydney pub feel is true to The Light Brigade's century-old heritage, but the upper levels are where things get interesting.
The contemporary bistro with striking murals and plenty of natural light makes a lovely lunch spot, while the 1920s-inspired lounge on the next level is all about intimate drinks and light snacks. The rooftop is another serious drawcard, with views of Paddington's pretty tree-lined streets and the CBD skyline beyond.
On the menu, expect a touch of fusion with fish tacos and beef birria, but excellent pub classics are the stars: house-crumbed parmigiana and chips, burgers, and rump steak with gravy.
