Oh Buoy Houseboat
Overview
Oh Buoy isn’t your typical houseboat. Imagine it as a boutique, timber cabin, the kind that’s fit out with vintage furniture, floor-to-ceiling windows and decorations that make you feel transported to another place and time. But this timber cabin just happens to float around the quiet bays of Berowra Waters in Sydney’s north.
The boat was brought to life by husband-and-wife team Laurie and Jess Rissman after they acquired a run-down late 1960’s houseboat. Now, after a front-to-back renovation that’s kept the antique charm, the boat is one of the prettiest and most sustainable seacrafts on the harbour. Spend your days aboard lounging in the hammock, mixing cocktails on the mini bar or just sleeping in while looking onto river views. Or jump off the deck and into the water, then explore the nearby bays via SUP, kayak or a 70s speedboat, all included as part of the Oh Buoy experience.
