The aroma of camel burgers and warm knafeh will soon be wafting through the air with millions expected to flock to Lakemba for one of Sydney’s most anticipated cultural events.

After attracting a record breaking 1.6 million visitors from all over Australia last year, Lakemba Nights during Ramadan is set to return on Thursday 27 February to Sunday 30 March.

More than 60 local businesses (including five food trucks) will gather to transform Haldon Street and the surrounding areas into a vibrant street market, with stalls offering visitors the chance to taste their way through several continents all in one night.

The month-long spectacular will run every Thursday-Sunday from 6pm-2am to coincide with the holy month of Ramadan and will provide the perfect meeting place for friends and family to come together to break their fast.

Getting there:
Due to the metro upgrade the T3 Bankstown Line will not run from Sydenham-Bankstown for the duration of the event, with no trains running to Lakemba. Free travel will be provided for all passengers on the dedicated pink buses connecting Sydenham and Bankstown, known as the ‘Southwest Link.’

Keep in mind:
Lakemba Nights during Ramadan is a significant event for the Muslim community and respect is key. It is an alcohol-free event and it is recommended to dress modestly.
