‘Peter Gregson: Volcanoes & Tornadoes’ presents work by the late Peter Gregson, a Kameygal man from Sydney’s La Perouse region, and an important member of Campbelltown Arts Centre’s Little Orange Studio. Gregson worked in ceramics, drawing and relief sculptures, depicting wildlife, thunderstorms, Uluru, volcanic eruptions and tornadoes. Gregson was the recipient of the Macability Award (2017 and 2018) and the Macarthur Award (2019) through the Fisher’s Ghost Art Award.
In 2018, Gregson designed an epic birthday cake depicting a volcano on top of Campbelltown Arts Centre for the Centre’s 30th Anniversary. In 2020, he designed a public mural outside Campbelltown Library featuring the Fringe Lily; a herb indigenous to the Macarthur Region.
‘Volcanoes & Tornadoes’ presents a selection of Gregson’s works and celebrates him as an innovative artist and friend to many.
