Rouse Hill Estate is one of Australia's most culturally important historic properties, not only for its artefacts, furnishings, buildings and gardens but also because it is the most complete document of continuous family occupancy of a country house in New South Wales.
Rouse Hill was established by Richard and Elizabeth Rouse in 1813 and has been in use by six generations of the one family. By exploring the remaining 13 hectares, its stables, summerhouse and outbuildings as well as the Georgian house, you can piece together a whole span of Australian history over 185 years.
This summer visitors to Rouse Hill Estate can enjoy the following activities:
Rouse Hill Estate in LEGO® Bricks features amazing models of the iconic Rouse Hill House, outbuildings, stable and barns constructed from LEGO® bricks with breathtaking architectural detail and accuracy. Visitors young and old can enjoy can create their own house and farm with over 200,000 loose LEGO® bricks featured in hands-on construction areas.
Once a month on Sunday 8 December 2024, 19 January and 9 February 2025 visitors can join Muru Mittigar at Rouse Hill Estate to participate in a fun and simple basket-weaving workshop. Families can drop in to learn weaving techniques and create their own basket to take home.
