Me-Gal
Highlights
Fine-dining with premium NSW produce and native ingredients
Unique zoo-side setting with native Australian wildlife nearby
Overview
Me-Gal is unique. The fine-dining restaurant sits on the edge of Taronga Zoo, surrounded by a walk-through enclosure featuring some of Australia's cutest native creatures. But the zoo setting is only part of what makes it a special entry into Sydney's dining scene; because of its Bradleys Head location, dining at Me-Gal means looking onto Sydney Habour, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and The Sydney Opera House – the dazzling waterfront location is referenced by the restaurant's name, the Cammeraigal word for 'tears'.
Run by Trippas White Group (which also runs Bar 83, Centennial Homestead and Botanic House), the restaurant is a high-end experience, with guests picking from a seasonal menu of modern Australian dishes embellished with premium NSW produce, including native ingredients. Once only open to overnight guests Taronga Zoo's Wildlife Retreat, the restaurant now welcomes all guests.
