Zaffi is not the restaurant for a quiet meal. It’s arguably not a restaurant at all. The two-storey, late-night Lebanese party venue is somewhere between bar, restaurant, club and house party. To the upstairs tables, where it’s more restaurant in vibe, honeyed halloumi, slow roast lamb shoulders and flat breads are delivered, all of them influenced by both the Lebanese cooking from the owner’s mum and the modern stylings of former Chin Chin chef Graeme Hunt. From the bar come cocktails as colourful as the neon pink lights, and between and on the tables, downstairs is where the dancing happens. And when we say late night, we don’t mean last orders at 11pm, this is the real deal with food, booze and DJs until 4am.
