With a rotating selection of sandwiches on hand-stretched schiacciata and Roman-style pizza by the slice, this inner-city hole-in-the-wall is the perfect spot for a lunchtime takeaway, quick dinner or post-disco snack. The kitchen is helmed by Mike Eggert (executive chef of Totti’s) and features a menu that changes daily.
Each slice and sandwich is topped with at least one of eight cheeses, including mozzarella, ricotta and Mike’s signature burrata, before being finished with a curated selection of sauces and toppings. Pizza toppings might include a classic Margherita; a Hawaiian-inspired slice with shaved ham, pineapple and Calabrian chilli; and capricciosa with ham, artichoke, mushrooms and white olives on a white base. As for sandwiches, it might be prosciutto with rocket and mozzarella; and mortadella with ricotta, stracciatella, black pepper and a lick of pesto.
