You could easily walk past Tento and think it’s just a takeaway coffee joint with a few umbrella-shaded seats outside. Inspect a little more, however, and you’ll find a one-of-a-kind Japanese laneway cafe famous for coffee, ramen, ochuazuke (Japanese rice bowls with tea poured over the top) and the handmade ceramics they serve everything in. The ochazuke is particularly popular, not just because it’s a rare dish to find outside Japan, but because of the beauty of Tento’s version – topped with an artful arrangement of sashimi and edible flowers, and covered with tea at the table, making for a great photo moment.
