Firepop started as a stall at the Chinatown Markets in 2019, serving northwestern Chinese skewered meat grilled over charcoal. Now the bright, crimson-red Firepop brand is a slick, award-winning restaurant (taking in the Good Food Guide 2025’s Best New Restaurant), serving far more than skewered meats to the diners of Enmore Road. The menu is a blend of the skewers that gave Firepop their original following and a more experimental menu that explores both the culinary diversity of Sydney and the ctiy’s range of premium produce – all relying on a passionate make-it-all-in-house policy. The drinks list is similarly diverse and served in a minimal, semi-industrial restaurant as narrow as an Enmore alleyway.
