The Philter Public Bar welcomes pleasure-seekers and beer lovers. The team is psyched to open the brewery doors so Sydney can experience Philter first-hand.
Overlooking the brand-new brewery, the Public Bar is where Philter’s one-of-a-kind brand personality comes to life. Blending old with new, the 2020 fit-out was designed with a nod to the building’s mid-60s design and heritage and to the 1980s Australiana that has driven Philter’s can designs.
The space uses some of Sydney’s colourful hotel history to evoke suburban pub nostalgia; from the hand-painted signage and handmade tiles inspired by the iconic inner west bars of days gone by to the bar top rescued from a pub that was redecorating – it’s certainly seen a lot of thongs and stubbies in its time.
A deck area connects the classic vibes of the Public Bar to the state-of-the-art brewery. Patrons can view all the action, and know they are drinking beer directly from the source. The site, an old yoghurt factory opposite Wicks Park, is smack bang in the middle of the Inner West Brewery Trail.
