Kyiv Social is one of the only Ukrainian venues in the country, and likely the only place where you can order a chicken Kyiv and a lager knowing your purchase contributes to a social initiative. The stylish, mid-range restaurant is a Plate it Forward venue, meaning every dollar you spend contributes to meal donations locally and in Ukraine, as well as hospitality training and employment for people from marginalised backgrounds.
For you, it means hearty goulash and artisan sausages alongside ‘grandma dumplings’, fragrant soups, pickles and both Ukranian and local drinks. All of that served to a lively dining room coloured with timber furniture and the blue and yellow of the Ukrainian flag. The restaurant also hosts regular events inside its doors and in the laneway outside, check the socials for details, you may end up with a Young Henry’s beer and an LP’s Quality Meats sausage backed by a few tunes spun by a DJ.
