Why go there
During the winter peak season, Charlotte Pass is not as busy as some other ski resorts in New South Wales, making it a great base.The closest village to Mt Kosciuszko, it is in the midst of Kosciuszko National Park.
History
The village was named after Charlotte Adams who, in 1881, was the first woman to climb Mt Kosciuszko. It is the oldest ski resort in Australia. The historic Kosciuszko Chalet was built in 1930 and rebuilt later in the decade following a fire.
